Create separate overlys for day and night
A lot of varibles make no sense in the daytime, for example a starcount. To make the overlays clearer in both daytime and nighttime create an overlay for each only displayng the required data.
Use separate labels and variables.
Whilst you can combine the label and variable into a single field this can make the layout of the overlay tricky. Since you can group and align fields its better to create to fields for each value you wish to display. One for the label and one for the value
Group fields
To make managing the overlay easy group logic filds together, this will make moving them far easier.
Test The Overla
Use the Preview option to check that the data is formatted as you expect
Be Sensible With Fonts
Use fonts sparingly. Try to keep to a consisten font and use different weights of the same font for headings and data
Ensure Images Are Optimised
When uploading images ensure they are sized correctly. Whilst you can resize on image in the overlay you should not rely on this to reize very large images. Ading very large images to an overlay will significantly slow down the generation of the overlay
